Learning with songs



Subject: Music                 
Tittle:       “Learning with songs”                                        Level      1º Primary    


We will refer to the first cycle of primary, specifically the first year since the activities that will raise are commensurate with the level that children possess

Vocabulary

1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and FOR HE'S A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW: happy birthday, numbers (1 to 6), cake, years old, candle.
2. TRICK OR TREAT: Halloween, trick or treat, candy, spider web, haunted house, black cat, bat, ghost, vampire, witch and werewolf.
3. WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS: Merry Christmas, colors (red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, black and white), snowman, reindeer, Christmas tree and Santa.
4. ROSES ARE RED: cupid, candy, heart, love, roses, valentine, flowers, cards.
5. FATHER'S DAY SONG: happy father's day, the best, I love you, numbers 1 to 10.
6. MOMMY, I LOVE YOU: mother's day, colors (red, blue, yellow, orange, brown, green, black and white), I love you

Basic structures and vocabulary related to the topic of the aforementioned songs.

Will be present approach processes, analysis, synthesis over the following types of activities
1. WARMING UP / ACTIVITÉS OF Sensibilisation
- Using language classroom.
- Questions to ask whether students know something about the subject matter (using the L2 and advantage to introduce vocabulary and structures).
- Give initial information from the actual content of matter (via text, video, comic, images ...)
- Inform students of what will work, what they want to achieve and how to evaluate.
2. ACTIVITIES HOME
- With own contents of the subject to help develop basic communicative skills: vocabulary, phonics and spelling.
3. DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
- Where the discursive aspects (description, exposition, narration, argumentation, dialogic and gestures) and morphosyntax is working.

- To develop cross-cutting issues and cultural issues (which have already been present throughout the unit) and cognitive aspects (relating, structure, analyze, concretize, apply, store, process critically, select).
5. MAKING A FINAL TASK
- Advance for the above activities; resulting in a product demonstration of any of the skills, recording the learning objectives.
- To develop different discursive and cognitive aspects and summarizing the BBCC which also have been developed in the unit.

- To work well independently or collaboratively (with web pages, graphics, ...) as a workbook / cahier d'exercices.

6. (a) Task (s)
SESSION 1:
1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND FOR HE'S A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW: Play the song, "draw the candles" (see draw the candles Word format activity), "color the happy birthday cake"


SESSION 2: 
2. TRICK OR TREAT: Listen to the song.  
After presenting and sing, watch a PowerPoint presentation (Halloween1) 
Halloween related vocabulary (ghost, spider, haunted house, black cat ...).  
When you have seen all the pictures, we will be putting the new one at a time, and must be searching for words in the puzzle

SESSION 3: 
3. WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS: Listen to the song. After that we will color the letters "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" with the colors we indicate them (blue, red, green, ...) (see pdf called we wish you).  
When they have finished we can do with them online memory game in which kids should do couples uniting to Santa, reindeers, snowmen and Christmas trees, which previously we explain these English words
Incluyo una actividad en educaplay que realicé para esta canción.
Se trata de una actividad interactiva en la que hay que ordenar las palabras de la canción ya que estas están desordenadas. Es una actividad muy facilita para este nivel que les ayudará a ir poco a poco adquiriendo el vocabulario de la misma.

SESSION 4: 
4. ROSES ARE RED: Listen to the song. Then talk about the vocabulary used in the Valentine, then let them search for those words in a word search (see Annex 4).  
Then they will do another activity that must arrange words and discover the secret message

SESSION 5: 
5. FATHER'S DAY SONG: Listen to the song.  
They will then perform a 'dot to dot' activity (see Annex 5) in which they must join the numbers (by joining the numbers 1 to 10, shall cite aloud) to complete the drawing (which reads happy father's day).  
When they are finished, they held a certificate for Father's Day. It must find and underline the words quoted in the song (happy father's day, the best)

SESSION 6: 
6. MOMMY, I LOVE YOU: Listen to rhyme. Then they make a congratulatory letter from Mother's Day, the paint must interactively (see Annex 6). 
 With this we can review the colors (give instructions to use the colors you want, in this case I use red, blue, yellow, orange and brown for flowers, green for letters mother's day, black for the frame out and white for filling in).  
Then they will do an acrostic, recalling words to remember in English and starting with m, o, t, h, e and r



7. Methodology
Organization and distribution in class / time
In terms of timing, we will use six sessions of one hour each (one session for each of the seven songs that we will use, except with the songs "happy birthday" and "for he's a jolly good fellow" that include in the same session).

SEN pupils
A student has special needs when it presents greater difficulties than the rest of his teammates to access learning as identified in the curriculum that corresponds to their age and needs, to offset these difficulties, adaptations of access and / or curricular adaptations significant in several areas of the curriculum.
In the event that there is any student with a specific educational need, we should adapt these activities so that students would be able to achieve the desired objectives. However, in this case we assume that no pupil needs special educational needs.
